Too Much Of A Daddy's Girl?

Do you ever wonder if Dads have an extra 'silly' gene that Mums don't have?

I have lots of fun with Hannah. I'm silly and playful and I do make her laugh, just not to the extent that my husband,Chris, does. I don't think it helps that as Hannah grows bigger, and heavier,  I can't throw her about nearly as much as Chris does!

I love watching them play together, it melts my heart. I often take a step back and really appreciate how lucky I am to have them. Chris is an amazing Dad and they have a great relationship.

Recently, I've been feeling a bit rejected. I got the inspiration for this post while I was walking home myself from the park, in tears. Hannah was determined that I wasn't pushing her on the swing, she only wanted Daddy.

If this had been an isolated or rare incident it wouldn't have bothered me. I would have laughed it off. Sadly, it's been happening every day recently. She won't play with me on the trampoline, with her toys or her musical instruments. If Chris is at work and I'm with her myself she'd rather play alone than play with me.

I have to say its beginning to hurt. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'll continue to try my best and hope it's just a passing phase.

Do you have experience of this and  do you have any advice?

The Highs And Lows Of My First Month Blogging.

It's officially been one month since I started my blog, although I have to admit that it feels a lot longer! I had to double check my dates to make sure my memory was correct ('baby brain' has stayed with me for three years, maybe it's just sleep deprivation).

Ok, so from the beginning - why did I start blogging? Well, I stumbled upon the parent blogging world by accident. I started a vlog on Youtube to track my weight-loss. When I was filming the vlogs Hannah was desperate to get on camera! So we started vlogging together and it's been so much fun.

I started an associated Twitter account called 'Cutting the Crap', because that was what I set out to do. I then came across blog accounts and was blown away with the lovely online community. I wanted to be part of it!

I set up my blog without really having a clue about what to do, what my focus would be or even what the heck I was going to write about. The irony is I started my vlog to lose weight and then the focus changed to family blogging and it meant I had no time for exercise! I am sticking to my new way of eating and still post fortnightly weight loss vlogs.

I changed my blog name to My Wee Sweet Pea because I that's what I always call Hannah, and she is my world. I decided to invest in a nice make over for my blog too. I know content is the most important thing, but a pretty design doesn't hurt!

Overall blogging has been fun. I love getting comments, reading other's blog and having some funny banter with other Mums online. I've had a few freebies to review too, which I never expected. I don't want my blog to be all about how much I can earn or what free stuff I can get, but it is a nice perk now and again!

I have also been blown away with the response I've had. I have had 1,200 views in my first month. I have no idea what the benchmark is, but for me I'm so delighted that so many people have taken the time to read my blog.

However, it hasn't been all wonderful. The main problem for me is the sheer amount of work that goes in to it. I work full time and want to spend all my free time with Hannah. Then there's the dishes, washings, ironing, Husband etc...

Another downside I've found personally is not feeling good enough. I see other wonderful blogs and think that maybe I'm just wasting my time. I know I am new and I will develop my own style, but it is daunting. There were a few tweets / online comments that sort of made me feel like they were comparing me to someone else and let's put it this way I didn't come out on top. It knocked out my stuffing. I considered just forgetting it all but so far the positives have outweighed the negatives.

Overall, it's been a wonderful experience and I want to thank you all for being so welcoming and lovely!
